A warm welcome awaits you in our family home just above Menaggio , which is in a tranquil situation with magnificent views over Lake Como and the surrounding mountains, and within easy reach of Lugano, Milan and St Moritz.
Our two family units on the first floor, each sleeping 4/5 people, are ideal for families or groups of friends. Guests are very welcome to enjoy relaxing in our garden.

Services

Wifi is free for our guests and there is an excellent connection both in the house and garden. All rooms have satellite TV and a hostess tray. A private parking place is available for each room and if required there is room in the garage for motorbikes and bicycles.

Breakfast

We try to satisfy all our guests’ requirements with an ample and varied breakfast. This is served on the terrace weather permitting otherwise in our homely ‘tavernetta’. On request tea and home made cake can be served in the garden in the afternoon.

About us

My name is Eleanor. Originally a maths teacher from Glasgow but since 1988 I have been living with my Italian husband Adriano on the shores of Lake Como.
Several years after we moved into this beautifully located house above Menaggio the opportunity of opening a Bed and Breakfast arose and with Adriano’s support, BalconeFiorito was born.
Together with my son David, whose extensive knowledge of the area will truly enhance your holiday, we want to make your stay a memorable one.

Lake view rooms

Two family units on the first floor and one triple room on the ground floor all with a view of lake Como, each with a private entrance, private bathroom, satellite TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Cot, high chair and washing machine are at your disposal.

Family unit on the first floor with its own private entrance, 2 double bedrooms and balcony all with a view of lake Como, extra single bed, bathroom and including an area with kettle, fridge and microwave.

Oleandro

Family unit on the first floor with its own private entrance, 1 double bedroom, sitting room with a double divan bed and view of lake Como, extra single bed, bathroom and including an area with kettle, fridge and microwave.

Anemone

A large triple room on the ground floor with French windows opening on to the terrace with a view of lake Como, private bathroom, hostess tray, and in the ‘tavernetta’ fridge and microwave at your disposal.

Location

Croce is a small hamlet a short drive up from Menaggio in the direction of Lugano. The house is in a very tranquil position on the road to the Golf Club of Menaggio-Cadenabbia. There are magnificent views from the house of the Lake Como and the surrounding mountains.

Menaggio, with its central position on Lake Como, is an excellent base for exploring the many picturesque villages, elegant villas and gardens around the lake by car, boat and bus.

The numerous restaurants to be found in and around the historic centre, each with their own particular specialities, entice you to enjoy either lunch or dinner. For our guests who wish to stay near the B&B we can recommend 2 excellent restaurants near the house.

The Lido of Menaggio is perfect for families with two swimming pools and a beach where you can relax and enjoy the beauty of Lake Como.
In Menaggio it is possible to hire a motor boat or kayak.

For those with a passion for hiking in the mountains, you need to look no further than the mountains above and around Menaggio.
The ‘rifugio’ of Menaggio at 1400m above sea level, with its breathtaking views over Lake Como, offers local specialities.

Golf lovers can enjoy an 18 hole round at the well known Menaggio-Cadenabbia Golf Course, only 1 kilometre from our house, followed by a meal in the club restaurant.
